SKIL’s 3410-02 is designed for quick cutting. It is powered by a 15-amp motor that runs at a no-load speed of 5000 RPM. This is a very fast speed in miter saw standards and makes it possible to cut wood like butter.
This motor spins a 10-inch carbide-tooth blade, which can cut at a maximum depth of 3.5 inches when perpendicular to the table surface. When tilted to a 45º angle to make bevel cuts, its maximum cutting depth reduces to 2.5 inches.
That said, the saw has a bevel range of 0-47º and has two positive stops at 0º and 45º for easy and accurate adjustment at these popular angles.
When cutting, you get a 20 x 26-inch aluminum table, which can be extended by 6 inches to a 20 x 32-inch size. This gives you more room to support wider workpieces and therefore, you can make wider rip cuts when working on larger projects.
Several features are built-in for enhancing accuracy and ease of use, and these include an EZ view measurement system that contains a built-in ruler. This helps you to make accurate settings and measurements while moving the self-aligning rip fence from the edge of the table.
