Immersion blenders are usually inferior to regular blenders in terms of power but the Koios HB-2033B3 differs from the norm because it is equipped with a powerful motor. This enhances its performance, making it ideal for blending different types of ingredients in everyday kitchen use.

Performance: Power with Multiple Speeds
Though it might not seem like a lot, 800 watts for an immersion blender is quite a huge amount of power because most of them are rated at 500 watts and below.
This power enables you to crush hard fruits and vegetables with ease and works in tandem with a set of two titanium-reinforced 304 stainless steel blades to crush ice when making frozen drinks.
The reinforcement is in the form of a coat and this has several benefits: it hardens the blades, reduces wear and tear, provides an anti-adhesive surface, and generally improves durability, allowing the blades to last to up to 10 years.
A 13-speed system is used to control the motor’s rotation and this consists of 12 variable speeds plus a turbo or pulse setting. The 12 speeds are easily adjustable using a dial above the handle while the turbo is selected using a button just below the start button.
With these settings, the unit is very versatile because it can be used to blend a wide variety of ingredients (hard and soft) to produce fresh juices, jam, sauces, and soups, just to name a few.
That said, even when running the unit at high speeds, there is no risk of the attachments falling out because the motor base has a fixed core rotary design.
However, it is worth noting that the motor can overheat, especially if ran for too long at a high speed. Therefore, you should not blend continuously for more than a minute.
Design: Compact and Ergonomic
Despite packing in lots of power, Koios’ HB-2033B3 has a long, narrow profile, which makes it quite compact. The blender actually fits on one hand and since it does not stand on its own, it has a hanging ring at the end of the handle for convenient storage on a hanging bar.
This means it does not occupy any space on your countertop after use.
A slip-proof ergonomic grip is fitted on the upper section and this ensures you can comfortably operate the blender while changing speeds and pressing the start or turbo buttons using a single hand.
Other than that, below the unit’s main body is a 360º mounting/disassembly point, which allows for a seamless connection to the blending shaft, chopper bowl or whisk gear at the press of a button.
This makes it very easy to switch between the three functions while the fixed rotary core secures them firmly in place.
Another important design feature is the anti-splash cover, which forms an umbrella above the blades on the blending shaft. This prevents fluids from jumping out of the container, leaving your kitchen spotless after use.

Apart from being a blender, Koios’ HB-2033B3 can be used for food processing and baking. This is because it is a 4-in-1 immersion blender that comes with an 8-inch blending shaft, a 500ml (1 oz.) food chopper, a 600ml (20 oz.) mixing beaker and a whisk attachment.
The blending shaft is very handy because it dips into pots, bowls or pitchers, allowing you to make juice, soup, baby food, smoothies, etc., right in the container that you want to use.
On the other hand, the food chopper contains its set of reversible S-shaped blades, which allow you to slice onions, chili, garlic, nuts, etc. It can also be used to make pates, hummus, or crush biscuits for baking.
As for the whisking attachment, it comes in very handy when baking and making pastry dishes because it can be used to whip egg whites and creams as ingredients for the final products.
The mixing beaker is meant for convenience as it gives you an extra container to do the mixing or blending.
Maintenance: Dishwasher Safe Parts
Even though not all components are dishwasher safe, some like the chopping bowl, chopping blades, and whisk are and this simplifies the cleaning process.
Other parts are quite easy to clean, with the main body requiring wiping using a sponge or damp cloth.
The blending shaft should be washed by hand using a mild detergent in hot water while the work bowl cover needs to be wiped on the underside using a sponge or damp cloth. The whisk gear should also be wiped because it can get damaged if submerged in water.
Loudness: Low Noise
Of course, an immersion blender cannot blend inside a blending jar with a noise cover. Therefore, any noise silencing technology should be incorporated into the motor’s design.
Koios’ HB-2033B3 incorporates the use of an all copper motor, which runs without causing any unnecessary noise or vibrations. This makes it very quiet and also safer because vibrations can cause damages and instability.
However, it is worth noting that the noise rating is not given by the manufacturer.

Price: Affordable
This 4-in-1 blender is quite affordable because it costs less than $100. That said, it has a lot to offer due to its multi-purpose design, which makes it very versatile.
However, it is worth noting that immersion blenders are usually very affordable and therefore, this one is within the price range of its peers.
The manufacturer does produce other immersion blenders and two of the closest ones to this model are the HB-2050 and HA0711.
Both are more expensive than the HB-2033B3, albeit by a small margin. The HB-2050 has a slightly different motor housing design and adds on a cookbook that has some of the most common recipes to help you get started.
On the other hand, the HA0711 has fewer speeds (9 variable speeds plus turbo) but it is the most expensive of the three. This is because it is a 5-in-1 set that adds on a milk frother to make it more versatile.
The frother attaches directly to the motor base and enables you to produce foam above your milk up to the ratio of 1:2 (milk to foam). As a result, you can add that professional touch to your cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate, eggnog, etc.
